Okay so I was thinking, Spring is finally here and I'm like, super excited to ditch my cozy sweatpants (like the ones I'm wearing now) and get outside. But, let's be real, there's some stuff we gotta do first. You know, the whole spring cleaning thingy... (Mittens, stop walking on my keyboard!).
Anyway, I started making a list of all the essential chores we need to tackle before we can fully enjoy the warmer months. And, honestly, it's a bit overwhelming. Like, where do we even start? (Oh, crap, I just spilled coffee on my notes...).
So, I figured I'd break it down into smaller tasks. You know, like a spring essentials checklist or something. That way, it won't feel so daunting. (Wait, what was I saying? Oh right...). Here's what I've got so far:
Spring Essentials Checklist
First things first, we need to get our homes ready for the season. That means:
- Cleaning out the gutters (because, let's be real, they're probably all clogged up from winter)
- Power washing the deck or patio (it's like a mini makeover for our outdoor spaces)
- Planting some new flowers or veggies (I'm thinking of trying my hand at gardening this year... wish me luck)
And then there's the whole yard work thing. I mean, I love a good lawn, but it's so much work. (I swear, I've spent hours mowing the lawn in the past...). But, I guess it's worth it in the end. (Or so I keep telling myself...).
Outdoor Tasks
So, here are some outdoor tasks we should probably tackle:
- Mowing the lawn (obviously)
- Trimming the bushes (I always forget to do this, and then they just get all out of control...)
- Weeding the garden (ugh, I hate weeding... it's so boring)
And, of course, we can't forget about the inside of our homes. I mean, spring is the perfect time to give our spaces a little refresh. (I'm thinking of painting my living room... maybe a nice, bright color...). But, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Baby steps, right?
Indoor Tasks
Here are some indoor tasks we should probably add to our list:
- Dusting and vacuuming (because, let's face it, our homes can get pretty dusty and gross over the winter)
- Organizing our closets (I'm so guilty of just shoving stuff in my closet and forgetting about it...)
- Deep cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms (this is, like, the worst part of spring cleaning... but it's gotta be done)
Anyway, that's my messy thoughts on spring essentials. I'm sure I've forgotten some stuff, but that's what you guys are for, right? (To remind me of all the things I've forgotten...). What's on your spring essentials checklist? Do you have any tips for making the process less painful?
