Wardrobe SOS

Okay so I was staring at my wardrobe the other day, and I swear it was like a war zone in there. Clothes everywhere, shoes scattered all over the floor... I mean, how do you even find anything in that mess? (I'm pretty sure I lost a sock in there forever.)

Anyway, I decided I'd had enough. I started researching these space-saving organisers that everyone's been talking about, and honestly, I was a bit skeptical at first. Like, how much of a difference can a few boxes and shelves really make? But desperate times call for desperate measures, right?

So I ordered a bunch of these organisers, and let me tell you, it was like a whole new world. I mean, I still have a lot of clothes (don't judge me), but now they're all folded and stacked neatly, and I can actually see what I have. It's like a weight's been lifted off my shoulders.

My Favourite Organisers

I've got a few favourite organisers that I want to share with you. There's this one shelf thingy that's perfect for storing shoes - it's like a little cubby for each pair, and it keeps them all tidy and organised. And then there's these drawer dividers that are, like, a total game-changer. I can separate my socks from my underwear, and it's just... it's just really nice, okay?

How I Use Them

So, I've got my shoes on the shelf, and my clothes are all folded and put away in the drawers. I've also got these little baskets for storing accessories like scarves and hats. It's all just really... streamlined, I guess. And the best part is, it's not like I had to get rid of any of my clothes or anything (although, let's be real, I probably should). I just had to organise them better.

But does it actually work? LOL, yeah. I mean, I'm not gonna lie, it's still a bit of a pain to put my clothes away after I do laundry. But at least now I know where everything is, and I'm not wasting hours searching for that one shirt I love.

Anyway, that's my messy thoughts on wardrobe organisers. What about you? Do you have any favourite organisers or tips for keeping your wardrobe tidy? (And can someone please come and help me clean my closet? I'm kidding... kind of.)

✨ Let's Talk:

What's your biggest wardrobe struggle, and how do you keep your clothes organised?

RIP Sally Kreuczunas

Okay so I was just thinking about Sally Kreuczunas, and I swear it feels like just yesterday we were all talking about her passing (which, by the way, was like a year ago - crazy how time flies, right?). Anyway, I was looking at this memorial thingy for her, and it said 'In Loving Memory of Sally Kreuczunas 8/28/1932 - 3/18/2025'... and honestly, it still gets me. They say time heals all wounds, but a year later, our hearts still mourn your loss, you know? (I mean, I didn't know her personally, but I can imagine how her family and friends feel).

Mom, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure - that's what her kids said, and I'm like, wow... that's so beautiful. Your Loving Children, they signed it, and I'm over here thinking about how hard it must be for them to still be feeling the pain of losing their mom.

Dealing with Loss

So, I was thinking... how do people deal with this kind of stuff? I mean, I've had my fair share of losses, but it's not like I've ever really 'dealt' with them in a healthy way (does that even exist?). I've just kind of... existed, I guess. And that's not really a thing, is it? Existing isn't the same as living, or healing, or whatever.

Grief is Weird

Grief is just, like, this weird thing that we all have to go through at some point, and it's so different for everyone. Some people are all about the whole 'stages of grief' thing, but honestly? I think that's just a bunch of crap. I mean, who can really put their feelings into neat little stages? Not me, that's for sure.

I swear, I was talking to my friend the other day, and she was saying how she still misses her grandma, who passed away like five years ago... and I'm like, yeah, that makes sense. You don't just 'get over' someone dying, you know? It's not like, oh, they're dead, so I'll just forget about them now. No, it's more like... they're dead, and now I have to learn to live without them, which is hard, damn it.

Anyway, I was going to say something about Sally Kreuczunas, but then I started thinking about all this other stuff... and now I'm just rambling, so yeah. Sorry about that. I guess what I'm trying to say is... RIP Sally Kreuczunas, and to her family and friends, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Estella Martinez - What's the Deal?

Okay so I was trying to find info on Estella Martinez, and I swear it was like hitting a brick wall. I mean, I've heard of her, but specifics? Forget about it. I'm like, 'Who is this person?' (I know, I know, I should be more informed). Anyway, it seems like all the good stuff is behind a paywall or something. I'm talking paid plans, people. And honestly, I'm not trying to shell out cash just to learn about someone.

So, I started digging around, trying to find some free resources, but it's all pretty vague. I'm like, 'What's the big deal about Estella Martinez?' Is she a public figure? An artist? I have no idea. And the more I try to find out, the more I realize I'm not even sure what I'm looking for. It's like, I know I've seen her name somewhere, but the details are just... gone. (Brain fart, much?)

What I Did Find

From what I can gather, Estella Martinez might be involved in some kind of creative field. Maybe music? Art? I don't know, it's all very cryptic. I found some mentions of her on social media, but it's all pretty surface-level. I'm talking 'Estella Martinez is amazing' or 'Just discovered Estella Martinez and I'm obsessed!' - but no actual info. It's like, thanks for the enthusiasm, but what's the context?

My Thoughts (For What They're Worth)

I'm starting to think that maybe I'm just not looking in the right places. Or maybe Estella Martinez is one of those people who's really private, and that's why I'm not finding anything. I mean, it's possible, right? But at the same time, if you're going to have a public presence, shouldn't there be some kind of... I don't know, bio or something? (Am I just being crazy?)

Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is, if you know anything about Estella Martinez, please enlighten me. I'm seriously curious at this point. And if you're Estella Martinez herself, hey, hi! I'm not trying to be nosy, I just want to know what all the fuss is about.

✨ Let's Talk:

What do you think is the most frustrating thing about trying to find information on someone, only to hit a paywall?

Apes & Imagination

Okay so I was reading this article about apes and imagination, and I swear it blew my mind. I mean, we always think of humans as the creative ones, right? But apparently, an experiment showed that an ape in captivity can, like, pretend and stuff. Which is crazy.

So I started thinking, what does it even mean to pretend? Is it just, like, making believe or something more complex? I don't know, maybe I'm overthinking it (I do that a lot). But seriously, if apes can pretend, that changes everything. I mean, we're not as special as we thought, are we?

Anyway, I didn't get to read the full story because it's only available in paid plans (damn, I hate that). But it got me curious. I started searching for more info on ape cognition and imagination. And let me tell you, it's fascinating. I mean, have you seen those videos of apes using tools and solving problems? It's like, whoa.

What Does it Mean for Apes to Pretend?

So, I was trying to wrap my head around this concept of apes pretending. And honestly, it's not that clear-cut. I mean, do they really understand what they're doing, or are they just mimicking behaviors? I don't know, maybe it's a little bit of both. But the fact that they can, like, create their own games and scenarios is pretty cool.

Implications of Ape Imagination

This whole thing makes me wonder about the implications. Like, if apes can pretend, does that mean they have a sense of self or something? I know it sounds weird, but hear me out. If they can imagine scenarios and characters, that's like, a level of consciousness or whatever. And that changes how we should treat them, right? I mean, we should be more considerate of their feelings and needs.

But does that actually work? LOL no. I mean, we're still going to exploit them for our own gain, sadly. Anyway, that's a whole different topic. The point is, this experiment is a big deal. It makes us question our assumptions about human uniqueness and ape cognition.

So, I was making toast and it hit me - what if apes can create their own stories and myths? Like, what if they have their own version of folklore? That would be amazing. And it would totally change how we understand their social structures and cultures.

My phone died while I was writing this, and I almost gave up (I'm lazy like that). But I'm glad I didn't, because this is actually really interesting. And I want to hear from you - what do you think about apes and imagination? Do you think they can really pretend, or is it just a bunch of hype?

✨ Let's Talk:

Can apes really pretend, or is it just a product of human interpretation? Share your thoughts!

Rolls-Royce Turns 120!

Okay so I was reading about history the other day (I know, I know, it sounds boring, but hear me out), and I stumbled upon this cool fact: 120 years ago today, Henry Royce and Charles Rolls founded the iconic luxury car maker, Rolls-Royce. I mean, can you believe it? (My cat, Mittens, just walked across my keyboard, sorry about that.)

So, anyway, Rolls-Royce released the 40/50 in 1908, also known as the Silver Ghost, which became a huge hit. I've seen pictures of it, and it's like, really beautiful. I'm not even a car person, but I can appreciate the design. (I'm getting distracted, my dentist appointment is later, and I'm freaking out a bit.)

Apparently, the Silver Ghost was the only car model Rolls-Royce offered back then, and it was made in Derby. I've never been to Derby, but I've heard it's nice. (Wait, what was I saying?) Oh right, Rolls-Royce. So, it's crazy to think about how far the company has come. I mean, they're still making luxury cars, and people are still obsessed with them.

Tips for Learning About History (Even If You're Not a History Buff)

Honestly, I'm not a huge history fan, but I do think it's interesting to learn about random facts and events. Like, did you know that (Mittens, stop walking on my keyboard!). Okay, focus. So, here are some tips for learning about history:

  • Start with small, interesting facts like the one about Rolls-Royce
  • Watch documentaries or movies about historical events (it's way more fun than reading a textbook)
  • Visit museums or historical sites (I went to a car museum once, and it was actually really cool)

Why Learning About History Matters

Literally, learning about history can be so beneficial. It helps you understand how things became the way they are today. Like, have you ever wondered why certain cars are considered luxury? It's because of the history behind them. (I'm getting sidetracked again, sorry.)

Anyway, it's also important to learn from past mistakes and successes. I mean, think about it: if Henry Royce and Charles Rolls hadn't founded Rolls-Royce, the car industry might be totally different today. (That's a pretty deep thought, right?)

Okay but, in all seriousness, learning about history can be really fascinating. You just have to find the right topics and ways to learn. For me, it's all about random facts and stories. (My coffee mug is empty, and I need a refill.)

I swear, I was going to write about something else today, but then I saw this fact about Rolls-Royce, and I just had to share it. (Sorry, not sorry.) It's crazy how one little piece of information can lead to a whole post about history and cars.

So, here's the thing: even if you're not a history buff, you can still learn something new and interesting. Just start with small facts, and see where they take you. (Mittens, I love you, but please stop walking on my keyboard.)

The Wyllieum Gallery Turns 2!

Okay so I was thinking about art galleries the other day, and I swear, they can be so intimidating, right? (I mean, I've been to some where I felt like I wasn't cool enough to be there.) But then I heard about The Wyllieum gallery in Inverclyde, and I was like, 'wait, this place is different.' They're all about making art accessible to everyone, which is, like, totally amazing.

So, The Wyllieum is having this big milestone - they're turning two! I know, I know, it's not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but for a gallery that's all about community, it's kind of a big deal. I mean, they've been helping people in local communities experience art in a way that's not, you know, super pretentious.

I was reading about the team at The Wyllieum, and honestly, they sound like the best. They're all about creating this welcoming space where people can just come and enjoy art without feeling like they need a degree in art history or something. (Although, let's be real, art history is pretty fascinating... but I digress.)

What Makes The Wyllieum So Special?

So, from what I've gathered, The Wyllieum has this dedicated team of staff who are, like, super passionate about art and community. They're always coming up with new ways to engage with locals and make the gallery a hub of creativity. It's not just about displaying art; it's about creating this whole experience that's, you know, fun and interactive.

Community Outreach

I think what really sets The Wyllieum apart is their commitment to outreach. They're not just sitting there waiting for people to come to them; they're going out into the community and finding ways to bring art to people who might not otherwise have access to it. It's, like, really beautiful to see.

Anyway, I was going to write more, but Mittens just walked across my keyboard, and now I have, like, a bunch of gibberish on my screen. (Sorry, Mittens.) Where was I? Oh right, The Wyllieum. So, yeah, they're doing some amazing work, and I'm sure their two-year anniversary is going to be, like, a huge celebration.

I swear, I was going to wrap this up, but then I started thinking about how cool it would be to have a community art space like The Wyllieum in every town. Can you imagine? It would be, like, this whole network of creative hubs where people could come together and just, you know, enjoy art.

Okay, I'm really going to try to finish this now. (My coffee mug is empty, and I need a refill.) The Wyllieum's two-year anniversary is, like, a big deal, and I'm so happy for them. If you're in the area, you should totally check them out. (I'm not getting paid to say this or anything... I just genuinely think they're doing something special.)

✨ Let's Talk:

What do you think makes a good community art space? Should they be more about displaying local art or providing classes and workshops?

Valentino's Epic Return to Rome

Okay so I was reading about Valentino's latest runway show, and I'm like, totally fascinated by the whole thing. I mean, the brand is, like, a huge deal in the fashion world, and for them to make a comeback in Rome, two months after the founder's passing, is pretty epic.

Apparently, the show was inspired by the 1980s, which is, like, so cool. I'm a total sucker for anything retro, and I can only imagine how amazing the clothes must have looked on the runway. I swear, I've been watching old music videos from the 80s nonstop since I read about this, just to get into the vibe.

Anyway, the show was held in one of Rome's most spectacular venues, which is, like, the perfect setting for a fashion show. I've been to Rome once, and it's, like, the most beautiful city ever. The history, the food, the fashion – everything is just, like, perfection.

My Take on Valentino's Return

Honestly, I think it's amazing that Valentino is continuing to thrive, even after the founder's passing. It just goes to show that the brand is, like, more than just one person – it's a whole team of talented designers and artists who are passionate about creating beautiful clothes.

A Little Bit About Valentino Garavani

So, I was doing some research on Valentino Garavani, and I found out that he was, like, a total legend in the fashion world. He founded the brand back in the 1950s and was known for his stunning designs, which were, like, totally iconic. I mean, who can forget those famous red dresses that all the celebrities used to wear on the red carpet?

Wait, what was I saying? Oh right, Valentino Garavani. So, he passed away two months ago, and it's, like, still hard to believe. I mean, the man was, like, a genius, and his legacy will definitely live on through the brand.

Okay, so I'm rambling now, but I just wanted to say that I'm, like, totally excited to see what Valentino has in store for us in the future. The brand has, like, so much potential, and I know they'll continue to create beautiful clothes that make people feel, like, amazing.

✨ Let's Talk:

What do you think about Valentino's return to Rome, and how do you think the brand will evolve in the future?

Girlfriend wants an open relationship, but I'm not sure

Okay so I was talking to my girlfriend the other day, and she drops this bombshell on me - she wants me to find a friend with benefits so she can, like, play around too. I'm totally taken aback, right? I mean, I thought we were happy, just the two of us. But I guess I was wrong.

So, I'm sitting there, trying to process this whole thing, and I'm thinking, 'Is this even a thing? Can you just, like, ask your boyfriend to go find someone for you to hook up with?' It sounds crazy, but at the same time, I don't want to lose her. I love her, and I want to make her happy.

Anyway, I started thinking about all the what-ifs. What if I find someone, but then I start to develop feelings for them? What if my girlfriend gets hurt, or worse, what if she falls in love with someone else? It's all just really confusing, and I don't know what to do.

My thoughts on the whole friend with benefits thing

Honestly, I'm not sure it's for me. I mean, I've heard of people doing it, but it just seems so... complicated. And what about the jealousy factor? I know I'd be jealous if my girlfriend was hooking up with someone else, even if it was just casual.

But at the same time, I don't want to be that possessive boyfriend who's all, 'You can't do this, you can't do that.' I want to be open-minded, and I want to make my girlfriend happy. It's just hard when it feels like she's asking me to, like, facilitate her infidelity or something.

Has anyone else been in this situation?

I swear, I must be the only person in the world who's never had an open relationship or a friend with benefits. It's like, I've heard of it, but I don't actually know anyone who's done it. So, if you're out there, and you've been in a similar situation, please, for the love of God, share your story.

Did it work out for you? Did you end up getting hurt, or did you find a way to make it work? I'm all ears, because I genuinely have no idea what to do right now.

And can we talk about the logistics of it all? Like, how do you even find someone who's down for a casual thing? Do you just, like, put up an ad on Craigslist or something? (Please don't do that, by the way. That's just a recipe for disaster.)

Okay but, I guess what I'm trying to say is, I'm just really unsure about all of this. Part of me wants to be all, 'Sure, babe, go ahead and find someone to hook up with.' But another part of me is like, 'Wait, no, this is a terrible idea, and it's going to ruin our relationship.'

So, if you have any advice or stories to share, please, please, please do. I'm literally begging you. I just want to make my girlfriend happy, but I also don't want to lose her in the process.

Anyway, that's my messy thoughts. What about you? Have you ever been in a situation like this? How did you handle it?

Egg Prices Plummet

Okay so I was at the market yesterday, and I swear I saw eggs for like, super cheap - we're talking Rs 5 each. I was like, what's going on? (I mean, I'm not complaining or anything). Anyway, I did some digging, and apparently, the Middle East conflict has halted exports, which is why we're seeing this drop in prices.

It's wild, because at the same time, chicken prices have gone up by like, Rs 50 per kilogram or something. I know, I know, it's not directly related, but still - it's weird to see one go down and the other go up, you know? (I'm no economist, but...). I was talking to my friend who loves chicken, and she's all upset about the price hike. I'm like, girl, just eat eggs or something.

So, what does this mean for us?

Honestly, I'm not sure. I mean, I love eggs, don't get me wrong - but I also love chicken. And I'm not made of money, you know? (Who is, right?). But I guess if you're an egg fan, now's the time to stock up or something. Just don't expect me to start eating eggs for every meal - I need some variety in my life.

A bit of background

So, from what I've read, the conflict in the Middle East has disrupted trade routes, which is why we're seeing this drop in egg exports. It's not just India, either - other countries are affected too. (I'm no expert, but it sounds like a big deal). And I guess the chicken price hike is just a separate thing - maybe it's due to demand or supply chain issues or something. I don't know, I'm just speculating here.

Anyway, I was making toast and it hit me - this whole situation is kind of like life, right? One thing goes down, another goes up. You just have to roll with it, I guess. (Deep, I know). My cat, Mittens, just walked across my keyboard, by the way - sorry if there are any typos.

Some tips, I guess

If you're looking to save some money, now might be a good time to buy eggs in bulk. Just, you know, don't expect me to give you any cooking tips or anything - I can barely make toast. (Just kidding, kind of). But seriously, if you have any favorite egg recipes, share them with me - I'm all ears.

And if you're a chicken fan, well... maybe just wait it out? I'm sure the prices will stabilize eventually. (I hope, anyway). Crap, I just spilled coffee on my sweatpants - great.

Okay but seriously, this whole situation is pretty interesting. I mean, who would have thought that a conflict in the Middle East would affect egg prices in Bengaluru? (Not me, that's for sure). It just goes to show how connected everything is, right?

Anyway, that's my messy thoughts. What about you? Do you care about egg prices? (Be honest, I won't judge).

 Bye Bye Dark Circles?

Okay so I was at Target yesterday, and I swear I spent 20 minutes staring at the new e.l.f Soft Glam Satin Concealer like it was a life-or-death decision... because, let's be real, dark circles have been my arch-nemesis for, like, ever. I mean, who hasn't struggled with those pesky under-eye bags, right? (I'm looking at you, lack of sleep and too much coffee.)

Anyway, I've tried a million concealers, and I'm not even exaggerating – from super expensive ones to, like, really cheap ones... and they all promise the same thing: crease-free coverage. But does that actually work? LOL no. Most of the time, I end up with a cakey mess that accentuates my fine lines (thanks, aging). Ugh.

But I digress. The e.l.f Soft Glam Satin Concealer has been getting a lot of buzz, and I'm intrigued. It's, like, super affordable (we're talking under $10), and the reviews are, honestly, really promising. People are raving about how lightweight it is, how it doesn't settle into fine lines... and, you know, actually covers dark circles. I mean, what more could you ask for?

Tips for using the e.l.f Soft Glam Satin Concealer:

So, I've been using it for a few days now, and here's what I've learned: apply it with a beauty blender (don't even think about using a brush – trust me on this one), make sure to moisturize beforehand (or it'll be, like, way too dry), and less is more (start with a tiny bit and build up). Oh, and set it with powder – or it'll, you know, crease like crazy.

My experience with the e.l.f Soft Glam Satin Concealer:

I swear, this concealer has been a game-changer for me. I mean, it's not perfect – but it's, like, really close. The coverage is, honestly, amazing... and it lasts all day (even through, like, a million coffee cups). My only complaint is that it's, like, really hard to find in stores (I had to order it online – which, you know, is a whole other story).

Anyway, I was making toast and it hit me... this concealer is, like, the perfect example of how beauty is all about experimentation. You gotta try a million things before you find what works for you. And, you know, that's okay. It's all part of the journey, right? (My phone died while I was writing this and I almost gave up – but I persevered, haha.)

This changed my life. I'm not being dramatic. Okay maybe a little. But seriously, if you're struggling with dark circles like I was, you gotta give this concealer a try. It's, like, the best thing since sliced bread (or, you know, coffee).

So, here's the thing: I used to think that expensive concealers were, like, the only way to go... but now I'm not so sure. I mean, this e.l.f Soft Glam Satin Concealer is, like, a fraction of the price... and it works just as well (if not better). Who knew? (Mittens, my cat, just walked across my keyboard – sorry about that.)

Wait, what was I saying? Oh right – the concealer. So, I'm not gonna lie... I was a bit skeptical at first. I mean, it's, like, really cheap... and that usually means it's, like, not that great. But, honestly, this concealer has exceeded my expectations. It's, like, the perfect combination of coverage and lightweight-ness (is that a word?).

Crap, I just realized I have a dentist appointment in, like, an hour... and I'm still in sweatpants. Okay, that's a whole other story. Anyway, back to the concealer: I'm, like, really impressed. It's not perfect – but it's, like, really close. And, you know, that's all we can ask for, right?

I swear, this concealer has given me major Monica-from-Friends energy... you know, that whole 'I'm a functioning adult' vibe. (Just kidding, I'm still in sweatpants – but, like, at least my under-eyes look good.)

Anyway, that's my messy thoughts on the e.l.f Soft Glam Satin Concealer. What about you? Have you tried it? Do you have, like, a holy grail concealer that you swear by? Let me know in the comments below!

My Hero: Kid Edition

Okay so I was scrolling through my social media feed yesterday, and I saw this thing about the Moray & Banffshire Heroes 2026 awards, and they're looking for a brave child of the year (I think that's what it's called... or something like that). Anyway, it got me thinking - what makes a kid a hero, right? I mean, I know some kids who are, like, way braver than I am, and I'm 34 (crap, I'm old).

So, I started thinking about all the kids I know, and there's this one kid, let's call her Emma (not her real name, because I don't want to, like, embarrass her or anything), and she's been through some tough stuff. I won't go into details, but let's just say she's had to deal with some pretty heavy things for someone so young. And you know what? She's still smiling, still laughing, still being a kid, despite all the craziness.

That's what I think makes a hero - not just the big, flashy stuff, but the everyday, behind-the-scenes bravery that most people don't even notice. Like, have you ever seen a kid stand up for themselves or someone else, even when it's hard? That's hero material, if you ask me.

How to Vote for Your Hero

Anyway, if you know a kid who's a hero, you should totally nominate them for this award. I think you can vote online or something (I'd check the website, but my internet is being slow, and I don't feel like waiting... patience is not my thing). Just make sure you do it by midnight on Sunday, April 5, or you'll miss your chance.

What's the Point of All This?

I guess what I'm trying to say is that we should be recognizing and celebrating the everyday heroes in our lives - not just the kids, but everyone. We all know someone who's going through a tough time, or who's doing something amazing, and we should be, like, acknowledging that and appreciating it.

So, go ahead and vote for your hero, and let's give some recognition to the people (and kids) who deserve it. And if you don't know anyone to vote for, just take a minute to think about the people in your life who make a difference - it's a nice way to, like, reflect on the good stuff, you know?

Sports Heartbreak

Okay so I was reading about this high school basketball game, right? And I swear, it's like, my heart sank for the Duke Tigers. They were so close to winning that state title, but Dover just crushed their dreams. I mean, I wasn't even there, but I can imagine how devastating it must be for those kids.

Anyway, I started thinking about how sports can be, like, super emotional. One minute you're on top of the world, and the next, you're dealing with a tough loss. But here's the thing: it's not just about winning or losing – it's about the journey, right? (Or at least, that's what I keep telling myself when my favorite team loses).

I remember when I was in high school, our basketball team made it to the finals, and we were all so hyped. We didn't win, but it was still an amazing experience. And looking back, I realize that it's not about the trophy or the title – it's about the friendships you make, the lessons you learn, and the memories you create along the way.

Tips for Dealing with Sports Disappointment

So, if you're a athlete (or just a sports fan), here are some tips that might help you cope with the disappointment of losing:

  • Allow yourself to feel the emotions – it's okay to be sad or frustrated, but don't let it consume you.
  • Focus on what you can control – instead of dwelling on the loss, think about what you can do to improve for next time.
  • Celebrate your achievements – even if you didn't win the title, you still made it to the tournament, and that's something to be proud of.

The Duke Tigers might not have won the state title, but they can still hold their heads high. They made it to the tournament, and they gave it their all. And who knows, maybe this experience will make them stronger and more determined for next season.

So, to all the athletes out there, don't get discouraged by a loss. Keep pushing forward, and remember that it's just a game. (But, like, a really important game, right?).

New Journalism Prize Honors Joe Drennan

Okay so I was reading about this new journalism prize that was just established in memory of Joe Drennan, who was tragically killed in a hit-and-run accident. I swear, it's crazy how life can change in an instant, right? (I mean, I was just making toast and it hit me - not literally, because that would be weird - but you know what I mean).

Anyway, the University of Limerick and The Irish Times announced this award, which is pretty cool. It's for third-level students across Ireland, so if you're a student with a passion for journalism, you should totally check it out. I was trying to find more information about it, but apparently, the details are only available in paid plans, which is kind of frustrating (I mean, who doesn't hate paywalls, am I right?)

So, I started thinking about how important journalism is, and how it's crazy that we don't appreciate it enough. I mean, without journalists, we wouldn't know about all the crazy stuff that's going on in the world. It's like, they're the ones who keep us informed, you know? (My cat, Mittens, just walked across my keyboard, by the way - sorry if there are any typos).

What We Know So Far

Honestly, I don't know much about the prize, but from what I've gathered, it's a great opportunity for students to showcase their work. I'm sure it's not easy to establish a prize like this, but it's definitely a nice way to honor Joe Drennan's memory. I'm just curious to know more about the criteria and the selection process (does anyone know? Help a girl out).

Why Journalism Matters

This got me thinking about why journalism is so important. It's like, without a free press, we'd be lost, right? (I know that sounds dramatic, but hear me out). Journalists are the ones who hold people in power accountable, who tell the stories that need to be told, and who keep us informed about what's going on in the world. It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it.

Okay but, I'm getting a bit sidetracked here (sorry about that). The point is, this prize is a great way to encourage students to pursue a career in journalism, and I'm excited to see what kind of talent comes out of it. I swear, it's going to be amazing (I'm not being biased or anything, but I just have a good feeling about it).

Anyway, that's my two cents on the new journalism prize. I hope you guys found this interesting (even though I didn't have much to go on, thanks to those pesky paywalls). Oh, and I just remembered I have a dentist appointment later, so I should probably wrap this up (wish me luck).

✨ Let's Talk:

What do you think about the importance of journalism in today's society?

Kinks & Conflicts

Okay so I was with this guy, and honestly, the sex was amazing. Like, really, really great. But, there was this one thing... he had a kink for novelty music. I mean, I'm all about supporting someone's kink, but this was, like, on a whole other level. (I'm talking 'The Chicken Dance' on repeat, kind of level.)

At first, I was like, 'Hey, I'm open-minded, I can deal with this.' But, as time went on, it started to feel, like, really untenable for me. I mean, I'd be trying to get in the mood, and he'd put on 'Who Let the Dogs Out?' and I'd just... can't. (I know, I know, it sounds silly, but hear me out.)

It wasn't just the music itself, it was the fact that it was, like, everywhere. We'd be driving in the car, and he'd put on 'The Macarena'. We'd be at the grocery store, and he'd start singing 'YMCA' at the top of his lungs. (I swear, it was like he had a sixth sense for finding the most annoying songs.)

Tips for Dealing with Kinks That Aren't Yours

So, if you're in a situation like I was, here are a few tips that might help. First, communicate with your partner. Like, really talk to them about how you're feeling. It's possible that they're not even realizing how their kink is affecting you. (I mean, my guy thought I was just being 'fun' and 'playful' when I was really just trying not to lose my mind.)

Second, set boundaries. If there are certain things that you're just not comfortable with, let your partner know. It's okay to say no, even if it's something that they really enjoy. (I mean, I love the guy, but I'm not going to start singing 'The Chicken Dance' in the shower.)

When to Draw the Line

But, here's the thing: there's a difference between supporting someone's kink and feeling like you're losing yourself in the process. If you're feeling like you're compromising your own values or comfort level, it might be time to reevaluate the situation. (I mean, I'm all for trying new things, but not if it's going to drive me crazy.)

Anyway, that's my messy thoughts on the subject. What about you? Have you ever been in a situation where you had to navigate someone's kink? How did you handle it? (And, more importantly, did you survive with your sanity intact?)

How do you balance supporting your partner's kinks with maintaining your own comfort level and boundaries?

Strawberry Fest Nostalgia

So I was digging through some old photos and I stumbled upon these adorable pics from the Floral City Strawberry Festival. I swear, it's like I was transported back in time (you know, before I had to adult and stuff). Anyway, I got curious about the history of the festival, and let me tell you, it's pretty cool. Apparently, the first Strawberry Festival was held in March 1988 - like, over 30 years ago. Can you believe it?

I started reading about how it all began, and I found out that by its 3rd anniversary, the Chamber got involved, and the festival had grown so much that they had to move it to a new location. I'm like, wow, that's crazy. I mean, I've been to the festival a bunch of times, but I never thought about how it all started. My cat, Mittens, just jumped on my keyboard, by the way (sorry, not sorry, for the random cat hair).

Fast Forward to Today

So, the festival has come a long way since then. Now it's this huge event with tons of vendors, food, and activities. I love it, but sometimes I feel like it's lost that small-town charm. I don't know, maybe I'm just being nostalgic. Does anyone else feel like that about their local festivals? (Mittens, stop walking on my keyboard, please).

My Favorite Festival Memories

I have so many great memories from the Strawberry Festival. Like, one year my friends and I entered this crazy strawberry-eating contest. I swear, it was so much fun, but also super messy. We were all covered in strawberry juice and seeds. It was, like, really gross, but also hilarious. And, of course, we didn't win or anything, but it was still a blast.

Oh, and have you ever tried the strawberry shortcake from that one vendor? It's, like, the best thing ever. I could eat it all day. Okay, focus, Sarah. So, yeah, the festival has a lot of great food, and it's just a really fun event to attend. Even my dentist (who I have to go see later, ugh) loves it, and she's always talking about how much she loves strawberries.

Tips for Attending the Festival

If you're planning on going to the Strawberry Festival, here are a few tips: wear comfy shoes, because you'll be doing a lot of walking; bring sunscreen, because it can get really hot; and, like, don't eat too much strawberry shortcake (just kidding, eat all the shortcake you want). Also, be prepared for crowds, because it can get pretty busy. But, honestly, it's all worth it.

Anyway, that's my take on the Floral City Strawberry Festival. I hope you guys have some fun stories to share about your favorite festivals or events. And, if you've been to the Strawberry Festival, what's your favorite part? Do you have a favorite vendor or activity? Let me know in the comments below.

Rembrandt Found!

Okay so I was reading about this Dutch museum and they just confirmed that one of their paintings is actually a Rembrandt van Rijn (like, the Rembrandt - crazy, right?). Anyway, apparently it was a 'needle in a haystack' kind of situation, which I can totally relate to because have you ever tried to find something in a messy room? (I swear, I once spent hours looking for my phone and it was just... right there).

So, the museum had this painting just chillin' in their collection, and they thought it might be a Rembrandt, but they weren't sure. I mean, can you imagine? You're just walking around, looking at old paintings, and you're like, 'Oh, this one might be worth millions... or not.' (I'd be freaking out, tbh).

They did all these tests and research, and finally, they confirmed that it's a real Rembrandt. I'm like, 'Wow, that's amazing!' But also, 'How do you even verify that?' Do they have, like, a Rembrandt expert who's just really good at spotting his style? (That's a job I'd love to have, btw).

How They Did It

Apparently, the museum used a combination of old-fashioned art historical research and new-fangled technology (like, scientific tests and stuff). They looked at the painting's style, the materials used, and even the frame (which, btw, is a work of art in itself - have you seen some of these old frames? They're gorgeous).

And then, they did some fancy tests like radiocarbon dating (which, I think, is like a thingy that tells you how old something is? Yeah, that's it). They also looked at the painting's provenance (which, I had to look up, but it basically means the painting's history - who owned it, where it's been, etc.).

More About Rembrandt

So, Rembrandt van Rijn was a Dutch painter and etcher (which, I guess, is like a person who makes etchings? Yeah, that's a thing). He's considered one of the greatest painters of all time, and his work is, like, super valuable (obviously).

I swear, every time I learn about art history, I'm like, 'Wow, these people were geniuses!' And Rembrandt is no exception. His paintings are, like, so expressive and emotional - they just draw you in (I'm getting all teary-eyed just thinking about it).

Anyway, that's my take on the whole Rembrandt situation. It's just, like, so cool that they were able to confirm the painting's authenticity. And it makes me wonder - what other hidden gems are out there, just waiting to be discovered?

Ugh, I'm so distracted right now (Mittens, my cat, just jumped onto my lap). Okay, focus, Sarah. So, yeah, the Rembrandt painting... it's just, like, this amazing piece of history, you know? And I'm not even an art expert (far from it, lol). But it's just, like, so cool to learn about this stuff.

Oh, and I almost forgot - I have a dentist appointment later, which is, like, the absolute worst (I hate going to the dentist). But, hey, at least I'll have something to think about while I'm sitting in the chair - Rembrandt, and his amazing paintings.

Crap, I just spilled coffee all over my sweatpants. Anyway, where was I? Ah yeah, Rembrandt. So, I guess what I'm trying to say is - art is, like, this amazing thing that can bring people together (even if it's just me, sitting on my couch, talking to... well, myself, I guess).

And, honestly, it's just, like, so cool that we can still learn about and appreciate art from, like, centuries ago. It's not just about the painting itself, but about the history and the people behind it (which, I know, sounds super cheesy, but whatever).

Okay, I think that's it for now. I'm going to go, like, try to clean up this coffee stain (wish me luck). Anyway, that's my messy thoughts on the whole Rembrandt situation. What do you guys think? Have you ever been to a museum and seen a painting that just, like, blew your mind?

Cyprus Unites: Female Painters Shine

Okay so I was reading about this amazing exhibition in Cyprus, and I swear it's exactly what I needed to hear about on International Women's Day. CHROMA by Her is this incredible group show at the Lumiere Art Gallery, featuring 10 female painters from all over the world - we're talking the US, Sweden, Lebanon, Russia, and England. What's even cooler is that they all live and create in Cyprus, bringing their unique perspectives and experiences to the table.

I mean, can you imagine being surrounded by so much talent and creativity? It's like, the ultimate girl power moment. The exhibition runs from March 8 to 21, and it's all about exploring femininity, cultural identity, and creative expression. I'm like, totally fascinated by how these women from different backgrounds and cultures will come together to showcase their art.

What to Expect from CHROMA by Her

So, from what I've gathered, the exhibition is going to be a vibrant celebration of color, texture, and emotion. Each artist will be sharing their own story, their own way of seeing the world, and it's going to be pretty powerful. I'm thinking about how art can bring people together, you know? It's like, this universal language that transcends borders and cultures.

A Little About the Artists

I wish I could tell you more about the individual artists, but (because I'm a little lazy, okay?) I'll just say that they're all incredibly talented and passionate about their work. I mean, to be able to create something that speaks to people on a deep level? That's, like, the ultimate goal, right? (Or at least, that's what I keep telling myself when I'm trying to write a blog post...).

Anyway, I was thinking about how cool it would be to attend this exhibition, to see the art in person and meet the women behind it. Maybe I'll even get some inspiration for my own creative projects (just kidding, I'll probably just end up with a bunch of new ideas and no time to execute them...). But seriously, it's events like these that remind me of the importance of community and supporting one another.

Oh, and I just spilled coffee all over my notes (because, of course, I was trying to multitask...). Okay, so where was I? Ah yes, the exhibition. So, if you're in Cyprus or planning to be there between March 8 and 21, you should totally check it out. It's going to be, like, this amazing celebration of female creativity and empowerment.

And, on a totally unrelated note, I have a dentist appointment later and I'm freaking out a little (I mean, who doesn't hate going to the dentist, right?). But, I guess that's just the universe's way of telling me to focus on the positive, like this incredible exhibition and the talented women behind it.

✨ Let's Talk:

What do you think is the most important aspect of an exhibition like CHROMA by Her - is it the art itself, the community that comes together, or something else entirely?

Spring Cleaning for a Cause

Okay so I was thinking, spring cleaning is like, the ultimate chore, right? But what if I told you it can actually make a difference in your community? I mean, I'm not just talking about getting rid of all the junk you've accumulated over the winter (although, let's be real, that's a great feeling too). I'm talking about using spring cleaning to fuel fundraising for a good cause.

So, I was reading about this nonprofit resale event in North Central Washington, called My Girlfriend's Closet, and I was like, wow, this is actually really cool. They take all the gently used items people donate during their spring cleaning, and they sell them to raise money for... well, I'm not entirely sure what they do with the money, but I'm sure it's for something amazing (I'll get to that in a minute).

Anyway, it got me thinking, what if we all used our spring cleaning as an opportunity to give back? I mean, we're already getting rid of all this stuff, why not make it count? And it's not just about the donations, it's about the impact it can have on the community. Like, think about all the people who might be able to afford clothes, or furniture, or whatever, because of these resale events.

How You Can Help

So, if you're feeling inspired to use your spring cleaning for good, here are a few tips: firstly, start by going through your closet (or garage, or attic...), and getting rid of anything you don't need or use. Then, consider donating those items to a local nonprofit, like My Girlfriend's Closet. You can also volunteer your time to help sort and sell the donations, or even just spread the word about the event.

More Ways to Make a Difference

And it's not just about the donations, you can also make a difference by shopping at these resale events. Like, think about it, you're getting a great deal on some gently used item, and you're also supporting a good cause. It's a win-win, right? (Although, I have to admit, I'm a little worried about the state of my wallet...).

Oh, and I just remembered, I have a dentist appointment later, and I'm totally freaking out about it. I mean, I know it's just a routine cleaning, but still... (sorry, what was I saying?). Oh right, My Girlfriend's Closet. So, I was trying to find more information about what they do with the money they raise, and it seems like they use it to support local women and children in need. Which is, like, amazing.

Anyway, that's my two cents on using spring cleaning to fuel fundraising. What do you guys think? Have you ever donated to a nonprofit resale event, or shopped at one? Let me know in the comments below!
